Awesome Night out with the Families of 21:

After an remarkable Inauguration of classrooms 0n 28^th of June the Tabler’s of MRT-21 & Circler’s of MLC-9 along with Ladies, Twinkler’s & HT’s set out to Hoysala Village Resort for the most awaited Families night out, located on Belur road about eight kilometers away from Hassan, a beautiful resort where we all got close to the Nature once again, away from the busy & routine urban lives, just two hours drive from Mysore, it was early evening by the time we checked into those ingenuously designed cottages which were contemplated to make us feel cozy & warm .

After a quick chai break everyone got together at the banquet hall, for a swift open & shut down meeting of MRT-21, the Theme for the evening was each family to dress up distinctively, by this time laudable hosts for the evening Tr Manish & Supriya had charted out for lot of games, like Sorting out grains, Ladies blindfolded to shave their hubbies by a spoon, plenty of question & answer sessions, men fetching out the sandals of their partners.

By 11pm the Music got started & the dance floor got flocked, the DJ who had come all the way from Bangalore made us dance till we all literally dropped with those Uninterrupted Desi Numbers followed by Kannada Hits, it was 1-00 a.m. by the time music got winded up though no one was in a mood to get out of the dance floor.

Next day morning we were all back in action by 7-00am, we could see children cycling from one end of the resort to the other, even though it was Drizzling for some time we hardly saw anyone get out of the Pool, few of us visited Resort Spa, then the afternoon session of Cards started, the Bar was open, children enjoyed every minute of playing Chess, Ludo, Skateboard, Table Tennis the list never ends.

By late Noon rapid Lunch session got started, by this time the hosts had come out with the results, Tr Ali & Cr Masuma went out to be the Family No 1, Followed by Tr Satish & Cr Anjali , Tr Murthooza & Cr Sowmya .

Overall with the company of Seventeen couples, a dozen and a half children, it was an exciting weekend, Kudos to the Hosts Tr Manish & Supriya, Chairman Tr Bhanu Kiran, Fellowship Convenors Tr Ashwath & Cr Sunaina for such an unforgettable Hospitality with a perfect location, Pleasing Cuisine, Great Music, numerous games & also for taking fellowship to the next.

The inauguration of SSA Round Table India Block of Laxmipuram School was done on 28th June, 2008 in the presence of Local MLA Sri.S.A.Ramdas, Mr.Kumar Naik, Commissioner for Public Instruction, Tr.Ashwinni Kumar, Chairman, Area-6 and host of other dignitaries at the school premises.  The 4 classroom school was built at a cost of Rs.9.00 Lakhs.

The function was grand and was well attended by children, teachers, parents, tablers, circlers and other prominent government officials.

Both the Chief Guests lauded the efforts of Mysore Round Table-21 and Mysore Ladies Circle in building the school in record time.  The event was widely covered in the  Print & Television Media.

Men’s Cook Out

On June 15th Sunday afternoon at farm house in Mysore, we had our Mens Cook Out. There were 5 groups, each with 4 tablers , where each were given a specific menu. The dishes made on that event were Channa Batura, Chicken Curry, Chicken Tandoor, Masala Vada, Desserts etc.. This day our hubbies had prepared delicious food for all of us. It was so niece to see all the tablers cooking and taking so much effort to make the dish tasty.

We all circlers were eagerly waiting to taste the delicious food which was cooked by our beloved husbands. Fellowship convener Tr. Ashwath had made groups for Mens Cook Out and had conducted games for circlers like Beach Volleyball, Card session and much more.

Twinklers had a gala time at the swimming pool. Various other games were conducted for them. After the games prizes were distributed among Circlers & Twinklers. We all circlers enjoyed the hot Chicken Tandoor, Manglore Bhajji & Pakodas with softdrinks & Breezers.

The Winners Were:

Knights in Khakhi is one of prestigious publicity event for both Mysore Round Table – 21 and Mysore Ladies Circle-9. This year also we felicitated deserving police constables on Saturday June 7, 4.30 pm at Hotel Regaalis. Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravindranath was the Chief Guest for the evening. Superintendent of Mysore District Police Sri.Rama Subba, Circler Ashwini Surinder (Past President LC international) and Tabler Himanshu Gupta (NST Round Table India) were the Guests of Honour.

‘Knights in Khaki’ honor’s the unsung heroes – the Police Constables who do the real legwork in the Police Force and receive very little in terms of recognition. They offer the public a very valuable service through hard work. The police constables selected for this years awards are, from the Mysore City Police- Sri G.V.Raju, HC 169, Narasimharaja Police Station (Best law and Order,) Sri.U.Umesh, PC 705 CCB (Best in avoiding Crime), Sri M.Puttalinga Nayak, HC 194, Devaraja Traffic Police Station(Best Traffic), Smt.Margaret Mery, WPC147 Mahila Police Station (Best Women’s Wing). The Police Constables selected from Mysore District Police are Sri. Rachappa CHC-82, Badanavalu P,S.,Mysore District. Sri .M.Babu, AHC-68, D.A.R.,Mysore, Smt.K.G.Veena, WPC-11, Kawlande P.S.Mysore District, Sri S.P.Suresh,P.C.230, Hunsur (T) P.S.,Mysore District.

Tr.Arjun and Cr.Sharada were the convenors of the event.

Tablers of Mysore usually get together quite often either for projects, publicity events, fundraisers, fellowship events or socials. But of late the three tables of Mysore have not had joint socials or mega socials where one table hosts the other two. The need to have one was building up among the tablers. Sensing this mood a mega social was planned and slotted for 31^st of May 08. The fellowship host list indicated Tr.Harish as the host and HT’s Rajeev, Mohan, and Sadiq joined up as the other co-hosts. Among themselves these four might have made at least two hundred calls to ensure a full house and the Mysore tablers did not fail them. Incidentally this day was the last Saturday of the kids’ summer holidays and saw one of the best participation of recent times from the twinklers.

The hosts wanted to re-live the carefree days of college, swinging to some exhilarating music. They decided to have the theme as “College time Guru” and the evening was christened ‘Saturday Night Fever’. The hosts chose the lounge bar at le` Olive Garden, the newest and most exclusive in Mysore, as the venue and it did impress the ‘college crowd’. Music, of diverse choice and played to each one’s content, supported by Scotch and a few other spirits and energized by some delectable food kept everyone on the dance floor. A few chose to catch up with each other out side the bar while the kids thought the grass was greener on the lawns than the dance floor and remained there. The DJ and the food and bar tenders were kept busy till 2.30am when the last of the not so young students retired for the day.

Earlier in the day, in the meeting, Mr. Kunal Ahluwalia son of our own Sq.Lg. Paramjit Singh and Jhunnu was honoured by Chairman Bhanu Kiran for securing the highest marks (97%) in CBSE class X exams. This promising youngster, who as he said was part of tabling family before he was born, showed his tabling genes by donating Rs.500/- to FTE from his own pocket.

Many felt that this Saturday Night Fever was a welcome fever like the one that we always wanted to get to keep us away from school.

I would like to share some sweet memories of the Fellowship which was organized by our MRT-21 on 25-may2008. It was a beautiful Sunday with little sunshine and we came prepared to swim and play with the children. It was my first visit to Tr Sunil’s farm house-LIVIN PALMS, which has got every thing properly arranged, to have lot of fun.

A small swimming pool with cottage, a beautiful beach ball court, a cooking area and serving hut and lot of play area with swing and slides for the children. It was a great day for me and Mansi (my wife) to be there, as I knew that this will be the occasion to meet and get to know more our tablers & their family present at the Fellowship.

The tablers who came for the fellowship were grouped into teams and every team had a captain. Thanks to Tr Ashwat for making me as an Captain for a team which had Tr. Ashwat, Tr.Ashwin, Tr.Kutni,Cr.Asha, Cr.Namita,Cr.Anjali, we named our team as –FRIENDLY TIGERS and the dress code was to ware Colorful shirt or T-shirt with Shorts. Every body in my team came properly dressed according to the theme.

We started of with the beer and lot of veg and non-veg starters. Children were busy playing, after having a beer we decided to play cards. We were around 11 players to play best of seven card game. After loosing some money we decided to play beach volley ball. We played some 4 games and that was really fantastic moment.

After polishing 3 bottles of beer (hic.. not sure how much), I decided to have some fun with children in the pool. Jumped into the pool and played some games and I had lot of fun, playing with kids and Mohan sir in the pool, too joined me. When feeling famished, I thought it was time to fill something solid into the tummy of mine. .

Both Veg and Non-veg lunch was organized and I ate to my stomachs full and with some more beer with the biryani, I had eaten a little more than what my stomach could hold. We ended the day with lot of memories to take back home and a heavy stomach. I got to know lot of tablers on this occasion, I felt really great to be a part of Round table.

And I thank Chairman Tr.Bhanu and Tr.Sachin to having got me into this movement Round Table. Looking forward for more such events. My son is now after me, and wants to know when the next event is …

Wow!!! We finally made it happen!!! Congratulations to Chairman Tr Bhanu Kiran, our planning for the past 6 months finally yielded results, and 9 tablers took of to Bangkok and Pattaya on the 30^th April 2008.

It all started in November 2007, when Chairman Tr Bhanu Kiran told me that he wanted to make this trip HAPPEN and sat down with me and BOREED his plan into my brains, spoke to individual tablers at their leisure and got confirmation, before putting it to the floor for confirmation and on that D day at the meeting at sport club, we had the ball rolling, and we had 5 confirmation on the jiffy. Finally it was freezed to go to Bangkok and Pattaya for 4 nights on the 30^th April and return back on 5^th May. As the days passed by, we had nearly 12 confirmations, and finally 9 tablers took of on the journey on 30^th April 2008.

We all planned to leave Mysore in one vehicle, picked up a Tempo Trax, and traveled to Bangalore and had little bit of a HIC UP while traveling to Bangalore, stopped at Nandini near Airport road and had our dinner and reached airport by 11.00pm. All very enthusiastic, to get on with our trip to Bangkok…

Reached the Swaranabhoomi Airport early in the morning 5.30am and got the immigration clearance and got out, and were all surprised to see the beautiful airport and were all surprised at the professionalism and organized ways at the airport. Had joie waiting for us and got into the Toyota van, loaded our luggage and started our journey to Pattaya. Wow!!! What roads, all were surprised to see the road and speed of the vehicle? With very little sleep in the night, some of us dozed of in the vehicle and after couple of stops for breakfast, reached our destination and checked into the A-One hotel around 10.00am, but all had to wait till 02.00pm to get into our rooms. The party started then and till date hasn’t stopped yet.

Coral island is one place we wanted to visit, early morning Ms Joy came to pick us up and we started our journey in a private speed boat. It surely was bumpy and reached the man made island for Para Sailing, myself, sadiq bhai and Rajeev took up the challenge and got strapped, and took off, it was so scarry when the speed boat driver slowed down and got us all a dip into the sea. Super it was and coooolll later. The next adventure was even cooler, we were all put up with an oxygen mask, and taken for scuba diving, and what an experience it was, with all the fishes, corals and the sea bed, it was a tremendous feeling, never felt so good and wah! What a feeling it was!!!

Another thing that surprised all of us was the walking street, looks like this place never sleeps in the night, only in the morning? Drove down to Bangkok the next day and checked into the tallest building Baiyoke Sky, a 5star hotel and the view was just super.

All of us chilled out in the room for sometime, and later got out of the hotel just to find out that all the shopping center, night market in right in front of our hotel. Walked out and shopped for sometime and later made our way to the most happening place of Bangkok “The Hollywood” , rocked the place till the early hours and got back to the room and caught on some sleep. The next day visited the greatest monuments of Thailand, “The Sleeping Buddha” and “The Golden Buddha”, boy after all the walking it was time again for the foot massage, got into one of the original massage center and dozed of for nearly 2 hrs, what a MASSAGE!!!

Well after all the hulla and gulla, we thought of home and had to plan, how to appease the better halves, and sought out in search of their list given and finally that took us a 2 whole full days. Guys never mention again about the trip to outside India, it will end up with more and more list, like our Chairmans wife chased him all the way to Bangalore to hand over the shopping list !!! by the way Chairman did you shop all in the list, well I did mine !!!

Ashwath Pathange

MRT-21.

The Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) is a unique concept by Sarva Shikshana Abhiyan. This is a model boarding school for girls and under this project government aims to provide education, boarding, food, clothes and job oriented training for the underprivileged Girls from rural side. The single biggest objective of this project is to bring back the dropped out girl students back to school.

In the year 2005-06 this project was envisaged in KR Nagar town in Mysore District and started, due to some unforeseen circumstances the project was stopped as contractor left the work in between. Due to this presently more than 100 girls are housed in different school, where they also sleep in the same classroom where they are taught.

Now, Chief Project Coordinator (Deputy Director of Public Instruction), SSA, Mysore has requested MRT-21 to undertake this project and complete the same. The total project cost now is Rs.18 lakhs. This project would benefit more than 100 Girls students from underprivileged society.

Members of Mysore Round Table-21 visited this school some time back and were appalled by conditions of the school and girl students and have decided to complete this residential school for the poor girls.

An Agreement with SSA was signed to undertake the project and the Bhoomi Pooja of the school was conducted on 27th March, 2008 at KR Nagar Town, the pooja was attended by Mr.Basavaraju DDPI, Mrs.Manjula Project Coordinator, SSA, Mysore, Mr.Subbegowda, BEO, KR Nagar, Tr.Ali Vagh, Tr.Bhanu, Tr.Sachin, Tr.Dhilon, Tr.Murtaza & Cr.Masuma.

This year’s Peacock Mass Tour visitors were four Tablers from Lemsterland Round Table-153 visited Mysore on 8th and 9th February, 2008.  Tr.Peter Brouwer, Tr.Arend, Tr.Gerrit and Tr.Jacob came on a 15 days fun filled trip to India.  They were welcomed and taken for lunch on 8th to Sq.Leg. Mohan’s house, where they enjoyed the India delicacies.  After lunch they were taken on tour by Tr.Jackson and Tr.Sreenivas of MART-156 to Srirangapatna.  They enjoyed the scenic beauty of town and later that evening MART-156 hosted they with dinner at Sports Club, Mysore.

On the 9th the tablers witnessed the inauguration of FTE+ Project at Ilwala Higher Primary School at Mysore and were happy to be in the midst of children.  Soon after the inauguration they visited the famous Mysore Palace & Maharaja’s Museum.  Tr.Rajesh Babu, IPC & IRO had arranged for dinner for them at Golf Club, where the pins, flags and gifts were exchanged.  We had wonderful time and fellowship with them on both these days.

Y o to Tabling…..

Mysore Round Table-21 and Bangalore North Round Table-25 with the help of the Epson India Pvt Ltd, inaugurated the FTE+ project at Ilwala Higher Primary School at Mysore on 9th February, 2008. The function was well attended by tablers of MRT-21 and BNRT-25. Mr.Basavaraju, DDPI of Mysore, Mr.Sukumar of Epson India Pvt Ltd and Tr.Ashwinni Kumar were the Chief Guests. Tr.Naveen Pishe, AVC, Area-6, Tr.Subbu Jois, Mr.Purushottam and Tablers from Lemsterland Round Table-153, Netherlands were the guests of honor.

Mr.Sukumar of Epson inaugurated the project by switching on the equipment and speaking on the occasion he said his company was happy to participate in this project and also said that they are looking for sponsoring one more project in Bangalore. DDPI Mr.Basavaraju congratulated the efforts of Round Tablers and said he would extend all possible co-operation from his department to do more of these projects in Mysore.

The function was crisp and the tablers of Netherlands lauded efforts of Round Tablers in helping the school children in getting the computer aided education.

Tr.Sharath of CRT-164 Wins The Round Table India Open Golf Tournament

The 1st ever Round Table India Open Golf Tournament was held in Mysore on 23rd December, 2007. For the first time in Mysore “Skins Format’ was introduced in an golf tournament and more than 144 Golfers registered and 142 Golfers played the tournament, we had players from Chennai, Coonor, Chickkamagalur, Bangalore, Coorg and Ooty. The tournament was conducted in association with the JW Golf Course. The tournament was a huge success, where in each of the 4 players fought for a ‘Skin Prize’ on all the 18 holes. The event went on smoothly from morning to late night. The ever dependable Tr.Vinod Reddy was the convenor for the event.

Microsoft Dynamics was the main sponsor for the event. Axis Bank and Johnnie Walker were the associate sponsors, apart from more 10 Hole sponsors.

Tr.Sharath of Chikkamagalur Round Table-164 won in Stable Ford Nett Category and Mr.Yeshwanth Gowda was runner up. The Stable Ford Gross was won by Mr.Dinesh Kumar and young golfer Master Aalaap was runner up. Mr.Narasimhamurthy bagged the winner trophy in the Senior section and Mr.Subramanya M won the runner up trophy. Mrs.Gayatri Mohan was best Lady Golfer. Apart from these, other prizes were also given for Maximum Birdies-Mr.MC Vittal, Maximum Pars- Mr.Praffulchand, Longest Straight Drive-Mr.Ramesh and Nearest to Pin-Mr.Gaffar.

A lucky dip was also organized and 10 people won various prizes like Microwave, DVD Player etc as prizes. Apart from these there were many prizes for dancers on the floor. The party was rocking till 2 am in the morning.

This event has generated lot of publicity to Round Table India and people are so excited that they are looking forward for the next year’s tournament. And for us it has given satisfaction and has helped us raising some funds for our projects. Team-21 has delivered a Super Hit…..
